Tommy 2nd in a 358 duel |

Craig Mitchell won a drag race down the final straightaway with Tommy Meier and Chuck McKee to capture the 358 modified feature at Orange County Fair Speedway on Saturday. Mitchell beat Meier by .038 seconds and McKee by .796 seconds. John Leito and Jeremy Markle rounded out the top five.
Mitchell started fifth but was in second by lap three and he displaced Tom Hindley for the lead early on.
McKee sits in first place after two small-block races.
Sammy Piazza earned two wins, in essence, as he beat Rich Coons to the finish by 2.8 seconds in the sportsman feature and then had his carburetor declared legal following a post-race inspection. Piazza won a heat race, started on the pole and led throughout.
John Ferrier, Bobby Hentschel and Anthony Perrego rounded out the top five. Mike Ruggiero leads Matt Hitchcock by 10 points.
Bill Pascual finished a half-second ahead of Mike Dutka in the pro stock feature. Dutka's carburetor was challenged but was found legal in post-race inspection. Pascual started fifth and moved to third. He briefly took the lead from Tom Vigh, but gave it back. Pascual passed Vigh again and held on. He extended his lead to 41 points over Dutka.
Scott Kehr, Bobby Schade and Troy Arnold rounded out the pro stock top five.
The pure stock victories went to Mike Vigiletti (veteran) and Dave Van Sise (amateur). Emerson Cargain Sr. leads Marty Van Neuiwland by 70 points in veteran. Frank Thissen's lead over Matt Burke in amateur stands at four. |
